Innovation through Collaboration
FMV works on innovation and development in close collaboration with industry, research organisations and other authorities. The aim is to identify and capture new ideas, technologies and ways of working that strengthen the total defence’s capability.
Through our innovation partnerships, civil companies as well as small‑ and medium‑sized enterprises have the opportunity to contribute – for example with technologies or solutions that can have military applications.

- From Innovation to Battlefield Demonstration Week – the purpose of Battle Week is to rapidly identify and test solutions to military needs by presenting clearly defined challenges to the market, enabling technological innovation to translate into operational capability.
- Military Innovation Programme – a programme run by FMV together with the Swedish Armed Forces that gives companies, researchers and entrepreneurs the chance to propose and test new ideas. The purpose is to turn civilian innovations into useful solutions for the defence sector.
